Introduction

This section of the documentation covers the usage of this appjar from an end user perspective.

Data Query has two clearly separated audiences. Regular users open reports and dashboards: they fill in a parameter form, read the results in a grid or a chart, filter and sort them, export them, and follow links from a summary to its detail. They never see the query behind a report and never write one.

Administrators define what those users can open. They author query definitions, group them into categories, configure charts and drill-down links, chain queries together, design printed report layouts, and compose dashboards.

The User Features section describes the report and dashboard screens a regular user works with. The Administrator Features section describes the management screens.
